Welcome To The Lyric Opera Northwest!
Lyric Opera Northwest is a subsidiary of A Celebration of Music! ("ACOM!"), a Washington state 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation in good standing. ACOM! was begun in the late 1990's by international artists Craig Nim and Pamela Casella Nim for an extremely well received series of concerts featuring two other marvelous international musicians, violinist Vilhelmas Čepinskis and pianist William Thomas Smiddy. There were standing ovations after almost every stupendous piece.
With over 60 years of performing between them and nearly 10 years planning productions, Craig and Pamela are striving to provide quality performances for international artists, but especially for singers who seek the opportunity to continue to add roles and build their resumes. Realizing that there is a huge gap between university productions and international opera companies, the experience has to be gained somewhere, and singers often feel their only resort is to relocate in Europe or on the East Coast.
That's where LONW comes in. We are proud to say that LONW is providing high quality performances with quality performers resulting in sold-out audiences.
Given the current state of the operatic art form, you can make sure these efforts to enoble and enrich our population and children, rather than denigrate them, can continue by giving generously to LONW at the lonw.org “Donate” page. Decadence we abhor and shun; dignity we embrace. Join us!
Our Mission Statement is as follows:
